Bay to Breakers kicks off in San Francisco

Some, as usual, were naked. Others decided it was a good idea to run the annual Bay to Breakers 12 kilometers Sunday as a unicorn, a gorilla, dinosaur, superhero or whatever else suited their only-in-San-Francisco fancy. And there were the outliers dressed as runners. But as runners filtered to the starting area, the bag on Jim Doxsee’s head drew stares — not an easy feat in a crowd of an estimated 50,000. Doxsee, 55, of Pleasanton, wore a paper grocery bag that said “Trump is president so I’m ashamed” written on the back and front, with a cutout for his face.
