A fire broke out at San Francisco’s Punch Line Comedy Club on Tuesday morning, causing what authorities described as “moderate” damage. The popular comedy club, located at 444 Battery St., caught fire before 9:26 a.m. and was under control by 9:46 a.m., according to a tweet sent out by the San Francisco Fire Department. There were no injuries and no one was displaced. The club often bills some of the biggest touring comedians in the country. Last year, Bill Burr called Punch Line “one of those magical rooms.” “Some clubs make you so psyched you were a comedian, and other clubs make you wish you were home,” he said. “The Punch Line to me always felt special when you went in there.
