An overturned big rig Tuesday on Highway 101 in San Mateo caused major traffic delays, police said. The truck tipped over on Peninsula Avenue between Airport Boulevard and Bayshore Highway, according to the San Mateo Police Department. CHP received a report about 6:05 a.m. for assistance, said Officer Art Montiel, an agency spokesman. CHP closed the Peninsula Avenue off-ramp onto northbound U.S. 101, which could open as soon as 9 a.m., Montiel said. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured, he added.
