Jordan Peele wins first Oscar for ‘Get Out’

When asked last week if he had ever been to an Academy Awards show before 2018, Jordan Peele couldn’t help laughing. “How would I have gone?” Peele said, during an interview on The Chronicle’s “The Big Event” podcast. “Me as the EMT in ‘Little Fockers’ was not nominated.” The writer and director of “Get Out” on Sunday, March 4, won an Oscar for his first film, taking a best original screenplay statue for the sociological thriller about a black man who meets his white girlfriend’s family and finds a house of racial horrors.
