Sacramento Kings partner with Black Lives Matter

The Sacramento Kings have partnered with Black Lives Matter Sacramento and a newly formed group of community leaders known as Build. Black. Coalition to create an education fund for the children of Stephon Clark, the unarmed black man fatally shot 20 times by Sacramento police, the team announced Thursday. “This fund cannot fix the issues that led to the death of their father, but it will secure opportunities for their futures while the family and the city grapples with healing,” the Kings said in a statement. A funeral was held Thursday for Clark, 22, who was holding only a cell phone when he was shot to death by two officers on March 18.
