An atmospheric river will flow over the Bay Area on Thursday and Friday, bringing extremely heavy rain to the entire region. “This rainfall event itself could provide us with our normal rainfall for the entire month of April,” said Roger Gass, of the National Weather Service in Monterey. The deluge is expected to begin Thursday night in the North Bay, but rains will be heaviest Friday afternoon and evening. Most of the region is expected to get 2 to 3 inches of rain, though the North Bay Mountains could see between 3 and 6 inches. “It could be one of the bigger storms of our rain season,” said Steve Anderson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Monterey.
