Fatal motorcycle crash in Concord results in severe traffic alert

A fatal crash Friday morning in Concord resulted in the California Highway patrol issuing a severe traffic alert, authorities said. The collision was first reported at 6:44 a.m. near Grant Street on the southbound lanes of Highway 242, according to the CHP incident log. Two lanes were reportedly blocked as of 7:15 a.m. and a coroner was being called to the scene. One caller reported a person on a motorcycle was trapped under a vehicle, according to the incident log.
