2-vehicle crash causes massive traffic delays on I-680

A two-vehicle crash early Tuesday on Interstate 680 blocked several lanes for nearly an hour and caused two-hour traffic delays in Dublin, authorities said. A collision involving a sedan and SUV was reported just before 5 a.m. on Interstate 680 near the Andrade Road off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles was reportedly smoking from the crash, but it was not immediately known if it was smoke from a fire or steam. Two southbound lanes were shut down until 6:17 a.m. A severe traffic alert was cancelled for the area. Traffic remained at a standstill and commuters could expect up to two hours of delays, CHP said.
