The atmospheric river flowed steady over the Bay Area early Thursday morning, dumping heavy rain and prompting floods that shut roads in the North Bay. The storm, also dubbed a Pineapple Express, arrived earlier this week but really got going late Wednesday night. Intense southerly winds are blowing, and they could pick up as a cold front moves in later Thursday. The bulk of rain has hit the North Bay, which received more than 2 inches of rain in some locations. An Urban and Small Stream Flood advisory was in effect for Marin, Napa and Sonoma Counties until 9 a.m. Thursday.
